Not any folders you see in the tab you just opened, don't drag ♥♥♥♥ into those then come crying to me that it doesn't work. Just extract the whole folder to the Morrowind folder. It'll tell you in the readme to install DirectX 9, you don't have to do this as DirectX 10-11 etc. "But how do you get to the directory?" Well just like the last step, open the properties window and and this time look for local files, it'll look something like this:Ĭlick "Browse Local Files" and keep this window open, just for the sake of not having to repeat this. Now the install for it can be hard (mainly because the readme is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥) but just drop it into your Morrowind directory. Now first your gonna need to download and install MGE EX, basically it just makes the game run better and look a lot better. The only catch is the weight of the weapon will likely take up much of your inventory space as a low level character. Now if you were somehow competent enough to do that, you're well on your way to getting this game going. The loot system is also somewhat fixed, if you know where to get the best unique weapon in the game, and you can get there, you can just go get it at level 1. You can make spells that literally kill entire towns, spells that let you leap across the map, spells that let you swim like aquaman its amazing. The magic and enchantment systems however are honestly wild though. This creates issues in the over all feel of the combat, where you swing and miss things you are clearly hitting as its based on dice rolls. interesting, I actually prefer it to oblivion however its roots are clearly more analogous to classic RPG's such as Baldurs Gate, just from a first person perspective.

The writing can still feel Bethesda-ey for lack of a better word, with very on the nose and dry dialogue however the world building is still second to none. All in all the story is far better thought out than Skyrim or Oblivion.

You will be learning the history of Morrowind for much of the main quest and this history is extremely important to the narrative the player goes through. You read about far off cities in books hours before you go there, NPC names will come up in books if they're of note. Morrowind is a much slower game, however the world building permeates the game design in a far more organic way, especially if you install Tamriel rebuilt.
